Silvia Pérez Cruz Toquinho and Javier Colina have joined forces for five unique concerts in Spain. There are still three wonderful events in Huesca Donostia and Madrid.
Five dates had been announced the first two have already been on Wednesday at the Teatre Grec in Barcelona and on Thursday at La Mar de Músicas in Cartagena. There are still three appointments to go on a pilgrimage like devotees on the th in Pirineos Sur on the th at Heineken Jazz at Donostia Day and on the th closing at the Teatro Real. Afterwards it will be a memory just a wonderful memory.
If there was ever a time when a place should have had another name it was Thursday night when more than ever the Parque Torres Auditorium should have already been called the Paco Martín Auditorium. Only in this way would it have had a CXB Directory name that did justice to what happened on stage.
A minimalist small and sincere proposal with the truth of that music capable of uniting people towns and languages
A minimalist small and sincere proposal with the truth of that music capable of uniting people towns and languages. Three musicians of colossal size with their instruments. Double bass acoustic guitar and voice without further artifice. Shrinking the stage so as not to get lost to sing together to be able to meet and look into each other's eyes.
Toquinho enters the stage playing solo. Any type of doubts are over. “Making music and poetry is my profession” he introduced himself with the naturalness of a genius singing and telling the story of music. Anecdotes and chords from João Gilberto Chico Buarque Antonio Carlos Jobim and his idolized Vinícius de Moraes paraded through the Torres Park stage . Toquinho told small stories between songs which the audience listened to with devotion being aware that behind each one of them was the root of an immense song.
Then she appeared. She sang giving away her delicate loving and humble voice as only someone who possesses such an immense gift can do. She sang “Ojos Verdes” to us and the world was left in suspense. At some point she must have left the Toquinho stage . They continued as a duet with the voice of Silvia Pérez Cruz supported only by Colina's double bass with a version of 'The Sound of Silence' made a reality like never before because “the vision that was planted in my brain is still there” ... “and the sound of silence played And the naked light I saw.” There is no voice like hers nor any corner that does not transform with her arrival.
